Agriculture is the backbone of Kenyan economy and 68% of Kenyan population is mainly
dependent on the agriculture for their livelihood. The existing challenges of the current system
which is the use of a manual system is unreliable when it comes to perishable farm produce in
storing staff and customer details. Customers can only order at the company counter, a kibanda or
local open-air markets. The need to wait in the queue may cause unpleasantness and consume
customer’s time and energy. As the farmers get low price for their produce due to brokerage
charges, buyers also buy the products at a high price.
